Obituary - Roy Holder

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy Holder. Roy was a redoubtable player for Old Salts back in the 1950s and 60s and only left the Club when his career took him to Malaya where he spent his life until retiring back to the UK.

When Roy left for Malaya he took with him his passion for rugby. He began playing in Malaya and was a great ambassador for the sport throughout the country. He went on to captain the Malaysian national side on many occasions.

We are hoping to obtain further information so that a more comprehensive obituary can be prepared.

His wife Carol has told us that his funeral is at 1.30 pm on Thursday June 5th at Charing, Ashford Kent.
